The small fishing of Cabuya, close to the Cabo Blanco Nature Reserve entrance, is a great base for nature-lovers hikers and beachcombers looking for a place off the beaten track. Cabuya is unique in having a cementery located on an otherwise uninhabited island, accesible from the monland only at low tide by a rocky causeway. A great swimming spot in rainy season is the rivermouth from the "Rio Lajas". It's also highly recomended for bird-watching. About 2 Km north of Rio Lajas, sandy Los Cedros beach, tucked into a small bay, provides safe swimming and good fishing, especially when the sardines are running. When there's a good swell, the long left point break of Los Cedros is very popular with the local surfers. |
