...Paquera - Tambor ( west of the Paquera Ferry Dock )
The town of Paquera is located about 7 km west of the Paquera Ferry Dock, and is a good place to purchase supplies for the rest of you journey, or enjoy lunch or dinner in one of the many good restaurants. The area is also famous for it's fruit orchards ( mango, guanabana, pineapple, etc ) so pick uo whatever is in season.
The road divides in two here; to the north is Playa Naranjo and then on to Nicoya and Liberia. The road to the west goes to Cóbano and the Pacific beches. ( Both roads eventully arrive at Guanacaste).

If you have time, we highly recommended that you stay here for a few days to hikr on the beaches, or take a boat trip to one or more of the nearby islands, such as the well-known Isla Tortugas and make a special point to visit the Curu Wildlife Refuge.
For lovers of wildlife and eco-tourists his tropical paradise is one of the highlights of the Nicoya Peninsula, where visitors are almost guaranteed many animal sightings in their natural habitad.
