This was a fabulous place to stay. Beautiful surroundings, great breakfasts, and the nicest people running the place you could hope to find anyplace. Would definitely stay here again

we were so fortunate to call Blue Jay Lodge and find space in one of their idyllic tree house rooms. for the nature lover, you are surrounded on 3 sides with green - trees, plants, flowers, filled with butterflies, bird song and the occasional lizard and iguana. no mosquitoes even though there is a lot of rain. Ilsa, the manager, is delightful. the breakfast is lovely and the pool refreshing. we walked to town and ate at Frank's, a restaurant with Cuban fare. the hotel is across the street from the beach. we're not surfers, but we enjoying walking along the beach and watching the surfers. late July and August is high season for surfers but low season for tourists so there are many good deals. This lovely place was only $40/night for both of us - private bath, double and twin bed, a balcony with two hammocks. a dream
