My wife and I stayed here for a week just relaxing and enjoying the area. We loved hearing the sounds of the tropical forest in the mornings and evenings. From our balcony up on the hillside we could watch families of howler monkeys move through the tree-tops thirty feet away! The breakfast was served by our lovely server Erica whenever we were ready to eat (so laid back!) out at the outdoor dining area which was a big wooden deck surrounded by flowers. After breakfast we would walk a few hundred feet to the beach wander around, swim then siesta in the palms during the warm afternoons. At the end of a long day of relaxing we would come back to the Blue Jay where David and Juan Carlos would cook and make drinks for us out on the deck while we listened to cool Latin beats. We can\'t wait to return and do it all over again! Thank you!

This was a fabulous place to stay. Beautiful surroundings, great breakfasts, and the nicest people running the place you could hope to find anyplace. Would definitely stay here again

we were so fortunate to call Blue Jay Lodge and find space in one of their idyllic tree house rooms. for the nature lover, you are surrounded on 3 sides with green - trees, plants, flowers, filled with butterflies, bird song and the occasional lizard and iguana. no mosquitoes even though there is a lot of rain. Ilsa, the manager, is delightful. the breakfast is lovely and the pool refreshing. we walked to town and ate at Frank's, a restaurant with Cuban fare. the hotel is across the street from the beach. we're not surfers, but we enjoying walking along the beach and watching the surfers. late July and August is high season for surfers but low season for tourists so there are many good deals. This lovely place was only $40/night for both of us - private bath, double and twin bed, a balcony with two hammocks. a dream
